Veja
“The way these goods are made is more and more important. That's what our project is about, making what we want the world to become.
Since 2004, we purchased 195 tons of wild rubber, this allowed us to preserve 120 000 hectares of the Amazon forest.
This material is used in the sole of every sneaker. We buy rubber in the Amazon forest, directly from seringueiro communities.
VEJA soles are made of 18 to 22 % natural rubber.
For a kilo of harvested rubber, 1.2 ha of forest is protected every year.
Our goal is to enhance the economic value of the forest in order to protect it.
Our VEJA sneakers cost 5 times more to produce than big brand sneakers. Because we use fair trade and organic raw materials, because they are more economically equitable for all parties involved in the production chain, because we invest in research and new technologies.
Since VEJA was created, all of our sneakers were handled by ASF employees.
Atelier Sans Frontières promotes the professional integration of people who are excluded from the labour market, by offering them a suitable paid job, personalized social support, and helping them develop a career plan.”

TOMS
The TOMS® Story
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS®, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One™.
Realizing this movement could serve other basic needs, TOMS® Eyewear was launched. With every pair purchased, TOMS® will help give sight to a person in need. One for One™.
"I was so overwhelmed by the spirit of the South American people, especially those who had so little, and I was instantly struck with the desire — the responsibility — to do more."
—Blake Mycoskie

Pala Eyewear
Let’s Not Talk Sustainability
Let’s Do It
PALA is on a mission. A mission to put an end to poverty, to protect the planet and to enable all people to enjoy peace and prosperity.
It’s easy to say, but much harder to put into practice. We’ve started by putting this mission at the heart of everything we do. From the products we make, the materials we use, the business practices we employ and the partners we select to work with, we’re working hard to walk the talk.
We’re not there yet, but ultimately, our goal is to create a business that puts people and the planet before profits and ethical and sustainable practices at the forefront of our operations.
We provide grants directly to eyecare projects in Africa.
Projects might include building a new Vision Centre; or dispensary, purchasing equipment or supporting an outreach programme – all sustainable, long term solutions that facilitate eyecare, eye-tests and provision of spectacles.

Wild Fawn
Wild Fawn Philosophy
Emma Barnes created Wild Fawn in January 2015 when her love for making and drawing transformed into the love of working with silver and gold to make timeless jewellery that can be enjoyed every day.
With a background in Anthropology, Emma knows that it's incredibly important to learn about where and how her materials are sourced and how people and cultures can be negatively affected by mining silver and gold.
Emma is a registered Fairtrade gold user which means that the gold she uses to make each piece of jewellery is either recycled or produced fairly and transparently. Buying Fairtrade gold helps to build miners futures by investing in social projects such as new schools and healthcare, and most importantly, to make their own way to prosperity.

Ethletic
Fair
Ethletic sneakers don’t just feel good – they make others feel good. The people wearing them. And the people making them. We see to this with fair pay, good working conditions, and voluntary premiums for social projects. Trade, as we understand it, is based on trust and appreciation.
Our employees in Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and Germany share a common goal: to make shoes that are bought because they are attractive, hip, modern, and comfortable. And because they were produced under humane conditions. Ethletic isn’t a compromise. It’s a real alternative.
Vegan.
Our sneakers make do easily without animal based ingredients and are 100 % vegan. In addition, we only use raw materials from farming areas that don’t compromise the animal habitat through monocultures and overexploitation.
Sustainable.
Exploiting nature is wrong. And unnecessary. We believe in the possibility of commercial success without the fixation on maximum yields. Ethletic supports its farmers in growing food for their own consumption. This preserves valuable agricultural land and provides a safeguard against monocultures that displace plant and animal life.
We only use organic cotton and natural rubber from sustainable plantations – no pesticides, no toxic chemicals. This protects both the environment and the health of the people who wear and produce our sneakers.
The Fairdeal Trading GmbH was the initiator in establishing the Talon Fair Trade Workers Welfare Society.
All of the cotton is Fairtrade certified and sourced from Fairtrade producers. Visit www.info.fairtrade.net
Our respect toward life includes animals. Our products make do easily without animal based Ingredients. Approved by PETA.
The natural rubber is FSC®-certified. The soles are bonded using natural latex milk in the classic vulcanization process.
